This was a very unusual carving for me! The cherry log was covered in burls and growths, so we decided to highlight and preserve the natural form of the tree with a shallow floral design. I carved this eagle in relief, which was fun since I don't get to do that very often. I used a beautiful chunk of cherry, glued it up, and got to work carving.
